Inspector Jamie Dunsing Describes how to find radon gas has Düring home inspection. With radon testing You Can find radon in your home and install a radon mitigation system.
Radon-222, the most stable has a half-life of 3.8 days; decays by alpha. It depends on the isotopes. Radon comes from areas of Uranium & Thorium bearing minerals and ores underground. Uranium (U) decays to Thorium (Th), Thorium decays to Radium (Ra), and Radium decays to Radon (Rn), by alpha & beta decay, I.E:
He-4 = Alpha particle
e- = Beta minus (electron)
U-238 -> He-4 = Th-234
Th-234 -> e- = Pa-234
Pa-234 -> e- = U-234
U-234 -> He-4 = Th-230
Th-230 -> He-4 = Ra-226
Ra-226 -> He-4 = Rn-222

radon is formed from the radioactive decay of uranium that is in the earth, some areas have higher levels due to higher uranium contents.
