We own the earlier version of this toy, which has an unpainted exterior and furniture. The earlier version had non-bending figures, and I imagine the bending ones will be more satisfying for kids to play with.

I do like the fact that M&D has added some color to the house, and I think it will be more appealing to kids with a colorful exterior, but does a dollhouse have to be PINK?

Boys like imaginative play too, and although many families try NOT to stick to strict color segregation of toys for their kids, eventually children do pick up the social message that pink is "for girls."

I'm disappointed in M&D for implicitly making this into a toy for girls.

I purchased this cute little dollhouse for my speech therapy toy bag.I work with children three with special needs and under and this is a great, simple little house. It has a bendy boy and a girl along with a kitchen, bed, living room and bath.Plenty of activities for a first dollhouse (just as much furniture as the regular sized "Fold and Go" house from M&D). This house reminds me of the simple and fun Little People sets from when I was a child (before all the bells and whistles were added).I haven't showed this house to my four year old, since I'm concerned she'll beg for me to take it home!Only caveat, for my needs I wish it wasn't pink, but I know that most little girls would be thrilled with the color. Thanks M&D for another great product.

I ordered this dollhouse for my daughter's second birthday present. It's a really a cute first dollhouse and I love that it doesn't have too many colors or bells and whistles so her creativity can soar.

She is a little too young for it and needs someone to play with her, but I figure she will grow into it sometime soon.

In any case, I feel that it is a perfect size, does not take up too much room, and can be fun for children of all ages.

The only thing I do not like is that the second floor of the house is hard to fit the the people in because of its slanted roof. It would have been nicer of the ceiling were a little higher.

Purchased this for 3 year old girl. She immediately started placing furniture and the dolls in appropiate rooms and on furnishings.Like all Melissa and Doug items, it is a durable and well thought out toy that children enjoy and will most likely become an item passed on from generation to generation.Highly recommend.

I bought this initially as a gift for my niece's second birthday. My son has the original Fold and Go Barn and has played with it since he was one.I love Melissa and Doug toys because they are wooden and don't feel cheap at all. This is no exception. It is very well made and my niece played with it on our vacation together.

I was so happy with it, I bought another to give as a Christmas present for our friends' daughter.

I bought this for my daughter's 2nd birthday. She's a little young, but really enjoys pretend play. The dollhouse is excellently made and seems to be very durable. The colors are great and not to bright and gaudy like some girls toys, just a pretty pink. The little people that come with it seem to be very durable too, they have the wire bendy bodies but do not seem like they will be easy to break or break at all. The furniture is the perfect size for little hands and has all of the basic things that you would want to come in this little set. The other great thing about this dollhouse is its size. We don't have a whole lot of room in our house and I really wanted my daughter to be able to bring her dollhouse out of her room and play in the living room where everyone else is. With this dollhouse she can carry it about, it's a bit heavy for her right now but doable. If you buy this dollhouse you will not be disappointed!!

This toy is for my 3.5 year daughter. The toy is very durable and well designed, as are most Melissa & Doug toys.It has educational value. My daughter doesn't play with it a lot alone but uses it more when she has other people to play with. This is more the personality of my child rather than the appeal of the toy.Overall, it is a good, introductory, simple doll house for a 3 year old.The other ones I looked at were larger and more complicated - too much so for a 3 year old.

This dollhouse is exquisite! It is the dollhouse I dreamed of as a child, but never had.It is safe, well-made, and comes with beautiful accessories.I could not believe I got so much for the price! It will be treasured in my Play Therapy inventory, I know!

This dollhouse has a simple design which allows children to use it however they want.My daughter pretends it is a school one day, a store another. The furniture pieces are well made.My infant son has chewed on them and not damaged them.He has pulled the house down onto the floor numerous times and it has stayed intact.

My daughter is almost 3 and she LOVES this toy! She immediately started making up tasks for the dolls to do. She talks to the dolls and creates stories for them - all out loud. It's so funny to listen in! She's even named the dolls - Princess and Boy! Funny!

The dolls are the perfect size for her little hands. They are somewhat posable too - their arms move and their legs bend so they can sit and it's easy enough for a toddler to pose the dolls on their own. The furniture that comes with the house is cute and plenty enough to keep her busy!

The only thing I don't like about the dollhouse is the lack of a latch on the outside of the house. It's hard for Serenity to carry it without everything dumping out. AND if you're traveling with it, you'd have to make sure it doesn't fall over and everything comes tumbling out. I'll probably buy a tiny latch and install it myself to take care of the problem.

But overall, it's a great toy that will probably last a long time. I didn't want another piece of plastic that lasts around a minute and does nothing to inspire Serenity's imagination.
