During the winter storm in MD/DC area, there was much lightening. I went to a family member's house, and while there it was explained to me that there was a bit of a problem with the surge protector.

Long story short, the surge protector seemed to save the Home Theatre plugged into it from a surge, however, the power strip leaves me with questions due to it's actions.

First, the lights says it's grounded and protection is going on. OK, no problem.

Second, The receiver had to be reset after the storm, so I guess it took a small hit, but nothing permanent. The receiver went back to normal after powering everything down and unplugging the power strip. The same went for another receiver in the house on a different surge protector.

Now, the problem that leaves me questioning this strip. The digital display that shows AC Line Voltage appears fried. It flickers now. Rapidly. It does not report any information. It's done.

The family member now wants it replaced due to that. Obviously the surge protector took a hit. The receiver had to be reset and the Voltage meter is now fried. However, it still says it's protecting...

It was decided, better safe than sorry, and replace it with another surge protector, different brand. While the voltage meter could always be taped over to block the light, it's still a bit odd to see part of it fried, and the other lights OK.

It served it's purpose for a while, appeared to protect everythign hoooked to it. That's good. but having the voltage meter flickering is a bit annoying. I guess monster decided not to provide surge protection for that part of the surge protector.

I've had the HTS1000 for a month or two now.I must say I wasn't expecting a distinctive change in the picture or sound quality but got this more for the surge protection, but I was pleasently surpised when I turn this unit on, and noticed a distinctive difference in the audio and picture quality on my Sony XBR4 46"; especially on non-HD channels. The picture seemed more seemless and smooth compared to not using this unit.I researched this on Amazon and also at a local Circuit City (they were selling it for $199.99 plus tax), but as always Amazon has great service and prices, so I opted to go with Amazon again for around $135.00 total.I saved close to $85.00 on a $200.00 item, when taking into account the tax!You can't beat Amazon for great prices and you can't beat this surge/power conditioner for the money either.Great product, highly recommended!

when you get this you can see and feel a difference from those dollar store circuit protectors it is heavy and seems well built . I have not had it tested as a surge protector and hope i never do .lol but i feel safer having all my home video electronics plugged into this ! look up some info about surge protectors anything over 3500 joules everbody says is great the higher the number the better and this is like 6775 joules so it should last a long while unless it sacrifices itself to save your other equipment ( which is what it is designed to do ) !!shop around for some really great prices on this !

Original Power Bar was an HTS 2000 MKII, 12 outlet, 2775 Joules purchased from Amazon 2 years ago.We must have taken a power surge, because my LCD TV cut off, and there was a slight burning electronic smell from the HTS 2000.Half of the outlets and LCD voltage and amperage indicator lights were still operational.Called Monster, first question, when did you purchase.Second question, was any equipment damaged. Nothing was damaged, and the unit did what it was supposed to do.Monster informed me that since the model I purchased was no longer made, but was a 12 outlet bar, would I mind having TWO HTS 1000 MKIII, 8 outlet bars. NO PROBLEM!They basically upgraded me for free from one bar that was 2775 Joules to TWO bars that are rated for 6125 Joules. The 2775 Joule bar worked great so I'm extra confident with 6125 Joules. I paid for shipping of the old damaged bar, and within about 5 business days of getting back the old bar, they shipped me out the 2 new bars no cost.I've wondered about the premium cost of their products, but the stuff works, and they actually stand behind them.

Do you know the model of the television in your family room?

How about the number of shoes you own?

Do you have any idea where your passport is?

What do you have in storage in your basement?

Does you family know which vase is the treasured heirloom?

Now imagine the washing machine pipe breaks and floods your basement or a natural disaster destroys your home...where would you even begin to make a list for the insurance company?

If you had Collectify you'd simply hit `print' and fax it over to your agent!

This easy-to-use software is a must have. It takes just moments to download it and you can start to enter your information. Then sit back and relax knowing you have a full accounting of what you own. The peace of mind is priceless.

I was having issues with my prior surge supressor so I decided to purchase this Monster PowerCenter. It was a little on the pricey side, however, I feel that it is much worth it.This Monster PowerCenter really leveled off the voltage going to my equipment and now am getting a contant 120v to all of the connected peripherals.I would recommend this and any Monster product to anyone looking for quality surge supression.Spend the extra dollars and you won't regret it.

I have had two of these power conditioners which I spent a lot of money on.Both have died without warning.I called Monster as my booklet says it is warrantied "For the Life of the Product"Thinking it had a lifetime warranty I called them. They told me it only had a 5 year warranty which is the life of the product.Give me a break!

This product is overpriced hype for suckers that think they are getting good protection and filtered power. The only thing you are getting is less money in your checking account.

Great product, great value!! It completely removed the buzzing I've had for years from my speakers due to poorly grounded cable tv signal. Even cable company couldn't fix this.

To start I got the product on time and the service when called in to order was very courteous, helpful and knowledgable. Soon as I got the product I hooked it to my home theater(Onkyo receiver,Sony LCD TV, Sony DVD,Direct HD-DVR, and XBox 360). Right from the start I noticed a difference in picture and sound quality as well as the unit itself looks cool too. Have had it now for about one month and have had 5 power outages/surges and no harm was done to any of my components. Very happy so far with product and would recomend to anyone looking for a well made product and piece of mind to know that their expensive components are protected by a $300,000 quarantee from Monster if this product fails. Also for the cost of under $150 bucks for the unit to protect thousands of dollars in equipment, not a bad bad investment! I will also order from Amazon again since have had the best pricing on just about everything I have looked for on the internet.
